Pro-active facility managers, building owners and those concerned about indoor air quality (IAQ) in their workplace will want to participate in High Safety Consulting Services' SAFE AIR FACILITY EVALUATION (SAFE)TM program.
This pro-active assessment assures the occupants of your facility that you are concerned about their health. At the completion of the initial assessment, High Safety Consulting Services will issue your organization a SAFE AIR FACILITY EVALUATIONTM certificate, a SAFE AIR FACILITY EVALUATIONTM poster to inform occupants of the air quality assessments performed, and an attractive SAFE AIR FACILITY EVALUATIONTM electrostatic window sticker that will inform patrons entering your building that you participate in this pro-active program. Following the initial assessment and qualification, the certification will be renewed annually.
The benefits of participating in this program include:
- Positive public relations image
- Improved tenant retention
- Identifying unhealthy practices or building conditions before problems arise.
- Special rates on Indoor Air Quality Investigations performed by High Safety Consulting Services, Ltd.
- Representing your building as meeting the ASHRAE standards for Indoor Air Quality
- Establishing a facility baseline against which future air quality tests can be compared
The initial qualification for program participation:
Your facility will undergo an air quality assessment that includes: a review of the HVAC systems including intakes and exhausts; a review of facility chemical use; measurements for relative humidity, temperature, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide; scan of over 200 volatile organic compounds (VOC's can be generated from various sources in building materials and other sources within the facility); N-6 / Rodac Analysis for total count and identification of Human Commensal Bacteria, Fungi, Environmental Bacteria and Thermophilic Bacteria (N-6 / Rodac Analysis is recommended in order to cover all areas for correct microbiological analysis, using standard methods to detect Fungi, Environmental bacteria, Human Commensal and Thermophilic bacteria. Recommended by ACGIH and EPA 600/8-91/202, 1992.); outside sampling is also performed and used as a base-line against which inside measurements are compared. A complete and comprehensive report is generated for your facility. Recommendations for improvements are made and guidelines are provided for maintaining a SAFE AIR FACILITYTM. Once all recommendations have been implemented and validated by the building owner, the certification process is complete and the documentation of participation is provided. The cost for this initial survey depends on the facility size and number of systems involved.
Renewal in the program:
Renewal reviews are conducted annually. A reduced scope review is provided to assure that conditions have not changed. Detailed biological testing is not typically performed in the renewal unless conditions warrant. The renewal process cost is reduced from the initial qualification.
