Steven D. High, MS, CSP, ARM, CHST, EMT, CXLT
Steven
D. High is the President and founder of High Safety Consulting
Services Ltd. Steve holds a BS in Business Administration from
Elizabethtown College and an MS in Safety Sciences from Indiana
University of Pennsylvania. He completed a post-baccalaureate
certificate in epidemiology and biostatistics through
Drexel University. He is a board Certified Safety Professional
(CSP) and holds the designation of Associate in Risk Management
(ARM). He is also a Pennsylvania State Certified Emergency Medical
Technician (EMT). He is certified as a first aid and CPR instructor
through the American Heart Association. Steve has also been an
OSHA Authorized Instructor for General Industry and Construction
Safety Courses since 1990. He provides instructor-trainer
programs for the OSHA Training Institute Outreach. Steve
is certified as a construction health and safety technician (CHST).
He is also certified
as a XL tribometrist (CXLT) and has conducted research in the
area of slip-resistance. Steve regularly evaluates walking
surfaces, floor treatments and footwear for slip-resistance.
His work experience includes over twenty years in occupational
safety. Steve served as the Corporate Manager of Safety, Industrial
Hygiene and Environmental Services for High Industries, Inc. He
has also held the positions of Safety Specialist and Safety &
Training Coordinator previously.
He served in various
positions with the Lancaster County Industrial Safety Council,
including the Council's presidency in 1990. He is a member of
the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) and of the American
Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA). Mr. High is a member of
the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) F-13 committee
on
walking surfaces. He has also served on the Governors'
Occupational Safety & Health Conference Advisory Committee
